The handsome Danish actor, Mads Dittman Mikkelsen (King Arthur) plays the role of Bond nemesis, Le Chiffre.  In the Ian Fleming book, Casino Royale, James Bond matches wits with Le Chiffre during a high-stakes game of baccarat.  Chiffre, also referred to as the “Number” or the “Cipher” is a banker for terrorists and criminals, who have an uncanny penchant for torture. 

      

  Bond producers Wilson and Broccoli says, “We are thrilled that Eva and Mads have joined the cast of Casino Royale completeing a first rate international cast.  They bring exceptional talent to the characters Ian Fleming described so vividly in his first James Bond novel.”

  
  Additional cast members include the talented Jeffery Wright in the role of CIA agent, Felix Leiter and Giancarlo Giannini as Rene Mathis and Simon Abkarian as Dimitrios. 

      The screenplay for Casino Royale was written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade with the famed Crash director & writer, lending some of his creative literary talents to the mix.  Location filming includes the Czech Republic, the Bahamas, Italy and the UK.

 

   Casino Royale is a MGM/Columbia Pictures Co-Production as is due to released in theaters on November 17, 2006.
